In this adapted screenplay by award-winning Director and Producer David Foote, we are witness to the interrupted life of a seven year old boy, Simon. His angelic appearance is a facade that conceals a troubled child who suffers from violent, uncontrollable tantrums stemming from the death of his mother, Sofie. His father, Jack, a Brooklyn bartender struggling to make ends meet, tries to cure the boy’s explosive outbursts while coping with the loss of his wife. |

| Overwhelmed by his son’s behavior and the threat of losing his job, Jack orders Simon to hammer a nail into his bedroom wall every time he loses his temper. As Simon’s tantrums and acts of violence escalate, so does the pounding of the nails on his bedroom wall. This percussive, nonverbal dialogue creates a powerful and poetic tale of self-awareness, love and patience where father and son find each other through “Nails on the Wall.” |
